Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup at the Entebbe Airport

On your arrival, you will be picked up by our safari driver-guide at the airport and briefed about the safari. Then, be transferred to your booked accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe. Arrive at the hotel in Kampala for your dinner and overnight stay at the Fairway Hotel – mid-range.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – Rhino Tracking (3-4 hrs)

Wake up and enjoy your morning breakfast, after which transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to participate in a rhino tracking activity, which can last 2 hours. Proceed to Masindi town for picnic lunch, and after, drive straight to the park, and you will be welcomed by many baboons around your lodge; check in, rest, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls

After a relaxed breakfast, drive to the park in the northern area of the Nile. Expecting to sight various mammals such as buffalo, lions, elephants, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, among others. Enjoy lunch and a bit of relaxation at the lodge.

Later on, you will embark on the boat cruise along the Nile River, where you will be able to cruise near a school of hippos, crocodiles, water birds such as the shoebill stork, white egrets, cattle egrets, and kingfishers, as well as have a great view of elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes along the lake shores quenching their thirst for water. Afterwards, you will drive to the top of the falls, where you will enjoy taking memorable photographs and views of the thunderous waterfalls, which are a visit worth making. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After a morning breakfast at your lodge, followed by driving out of Murchison Falls and then transferring to Kibale National Park with a stop to stretch your body, take photos and have your picnic lunch in Fort Portal. Proceed to the park and check in at the lodge. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Wake up early and have your breakfast at the lodge, then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimp-trekking dos and don’ts. Then, afterwards, you will meet up with the skilled ranger to lead you through the forest trails to look out for chimpanzee individuals. The trek can take about 2 to 7 hours, depending on their previous location. On finding them, you will be allowed an hour to spend with them, observing their amazing lifestyle and learning how they survive in the forest.

Later on, you will go for a guided nature walk around the Bigodi wetlands for birding and primate viewing, among others. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Return to Kampala via a visit to Igongo culture, Uganda Equator

After morning breakfast, followed by departing back to Kampala with a stopover at the Igongo cultural centre to learn about the Ankole culture. Then, afterwards, proceed to another stop at the equator in Kayabwe to experience how longitude is measured at 0°C and also enjoy taking photos.
