Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer To Kibale National Park
Depending on your location, the safari guide will pick you up and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch and then proceed to the park. On arrival, you will check into your lodge for relaxation and prepare for the next day’s activities.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking And Bigodi Swamp
After morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the chimpanzees. The chimpanzee trek takes 2 to 4 hours, and once the chimpanzees are spotted, you will spend an hour with them as you watch their behaviours and take photos and record moments. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi sanctuary, where you will spot animals, primates and bird species. After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer To Semliki National Park And Evening Game Drive
After morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Semliki National Park. On arrival at the park, you will check into the lodge for lunch and relax.
Later in the evening, you will have a game drive where you will spot nocturnal animals such as civets, hyenas, and leopards, among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Nature Walk And Sempaya Hot Spring
In the morning after breakfast, you will have a nature walk into the park where you will spot animals, several bird species and the vegetation within the park, as well as the Mungilo waterfalls. After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will visit the Sempaya hot spring, which has a geyser that comes up to about 8 metres at a very high temperature, where tourists can cook eggs and matooke. After the visit to the hot spring, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive And Transfer Back To Kampala
After morning breakfast, you will head into the park for a morning game drive, where you will spot animals in their active state. After, you will return to the lodge and freshen up and then later check out of the lodge and embark on the journey back to Kampala.
You will have lunch en route while on the journey, and on arrival, you will be dropped off at the Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home or any place as advised.
