Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Depending on your location, our safari driver guide will pick you up from your location and brief you about the safari. Then, set off to Kibale National Park, home to primates, especially the chimpanzees. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. Arriving at the park in the evening, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Turaco Safari Lodge or Kibale. Tourist safari lodge

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest

After having a delicious breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a short briefing about chimp tracking dos and don’ts. After the briefing, you will be escorted by the park ranger-guide through the forest trails to look out for chimpanzees. The trek can take about 2 to 5 hours, depending on their movements. Upon finding them, you will be given one hour to be with them, observe their behaviours, and enjoy taking photos. After an encounter with them, you will be driven back to the lodge to have lunch and relaxation. Dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Birding at Bigodi Wetland & Return to Kampala

Wake up, have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, and go meet your ranger for birding at the Bigodi swampy area, a great place for bird lovers. During your visit to Bigodi Swamp, you will be able to enjoy bird viewing since the area harbours over 138 bird species. Some of the birds to see include kingfishers, flycatchers, waxbills, weavers, cuckoos, papyrus gonoleks, and hornbills. You can also spot aardvarks, bush pigs, otters, mongooses, webbed-toed sitatunga antelopes and many more.

After the birding adventure, you will drive out of the park with an en route lunch in the town of Fort Portal. Continue to Kampala to be dropped at your hotel or at Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
